The band was formed in August 1993 in Varna by K. Velikov and V. Zlatkov. Once the line-up was complete, ZHEN-SHEN recorded their first demo, *Herbs*. The public launch took place at the end of the year, and following the concert, the band changed bassists. A new demo album followed, along with concerts in Varna, Dobrich and Sozopol. In the spring of ’94, M. Parushev and Zh. Georgiev joined the band. With this line-up, they recorded their next demo album, “Figures”. At this time, the band also put on one of their most impressive performances, conceptually divided into three parts and featuring original stage sets. In the spring of 1995, there were further changes to the band. The new vocalist was D. Pozharski. By the end of the summer, the debut album "Probudzhane" had been recorded at Shark Art studio in Varna. The album was released by "Melomania" in two versions – in Bulgarian and English. The launch took place on 24 November at a joint concert with GORSKI TSVETYA. Two days later, the band took part in the National Pop-Rock Festival in Nessebar, where they came fourth, and S. Glinkov won the award for best bassist. info: bg-rock-archives.com
