Villa Vietcong was formed in September 2014 in Sofia. In January 2015, they began recording their debut album, *The Mountain Dwarf Dance*. It was released in June and launched with a concert at the Mixtape club in Sofia. In October, they took part in the Setalight Festival in Berlin. Their participation took place in a new and interesting way – the band played live in a studio in Sofia, and their performance was filmed and broadcast live to Berlin. In the spring of 2018, they released the EP The Stay Sane Sessions.
