Over the past 25 years, Torstn Kauke has been creating music in his home studio in Offenbach (near Frankfurt) for the many different bands and projects in which he plays. He has always kept some of these recordings for his solo project under his own name. These productions are often long instrumental ambient tracks, using mainly electronic instruments and field recordings, but others – such as on his brand-new album “Aus Der Ferne” (“From Afar”) – consist of shorter tracks that you might call “experimental pop music” . These tracks feature electronic krautrock and punk rock/darkwave/industrial elements, which he loves to combine, alongside intelligent (mostly German) lyrics and sweet pop melodies to sing along to...
