The SLAV group was formed in mid-1991 in Sofia, Bulgaria, by Svetoslav Bitrakov and Lyubomir Velev (musicians), Ani Mitova (dancer) and Valentina Puleva (artist). As part of the “Art in Action” Association, the group took part in the performance “Light Well” (1991) and the avant-garde happenings: “Creation” (1991) and “1000a” (1991), but subsequently continued as a musical duo (Svetoslav Bitrakov and Lyubomir Velev). DARKWAVERADOMIR.ONLINE is familiar with Svetoslav Bitrakov from his various live collaborations with Dimitar Voev/New Generation – 1990–1992. The broad musical foundation and performance techniques of the two musicians/composers led to the emergence of a unique ‘transcendental-eclectic’ style – blending elements ranging from: jazz, rock, symphonic music, minimalism, new age, ambient, industrial and avant-garde, all with a distinctive originality.
