The Sladurs were formed in 1989 in Troyan during the Rhythm newspaper festival by two girls – Galya Madjarova (Tapai) and Dani. “The band consisted of me and Dani from Lovech. We both wrote all the songs and the lyrics. We met up two or three times a year and always recorded new tracks on a small cassette recorder. We played gigs in Ruse, Varna and Kazanlak. All of them were compilation gigs. We used various guest musicians for them, most often Neli Voeva and Iliana Beshkova. We recorded five songs in a community centre with two guest musicians from Artie Mortie (1991), and four songs at Radio Tempo’s studio with the line-up: me (drums), Dani (vocals), Soma (bass) and Chocho from Favourite (keyboards and guitar): Vnuci (lyrics by Vasso), Dupka, Nadgrobno and Ballad for My Contact Lenses. One track, ‘Motley in the Wall’, at Radio Pristis (Favorit’s studio) with Vladi from Favorit on guitar. They have also been played on Brussels radio station Durango 15 (Vnuci and Motley) and on a UK radio station with five songs. The newest member of the band is Mick (bass, didgeridoo and drum). The band is currently active. Contact: arlina_mad@yahoo.com
