Torstn Kauke is making music for over 40 years now!

He started in the early eighties with different NDW-influenced Tape-Projects, played guitar (and later bass) in a lot of german Punk- and Wave-Bands from the Frankfurt-area, then discovered electronic music when the instruments became payable in the mid-nineties, tried Techno and other electronic styles and became finally by the end of the century extremly (un)popular with his Electro-Punk Duo SUPERSTOLK and even more unpopular with his Experimental Electronic Krautrock Duo MATERIALEINSCHUECHTERUNG ( = material intimidation) not to forget the Dark Electronic Projekt TB OR NOT TB together with his wife Bea (TB = Torstn & Bea).

In his home studio he records a lot of demos & tracks for all his different bands and projects but sometimes uses some of the instrumentals he creates rather for his own solo-project.

Some of which are electronic and melodic Ambient (often using field recordings as a fundament) and others that are shorter tracks which you may call "Experimental Popmusic" because theses songs consist mainly of rough experimental (electronic) Krautrock and Darkwave-Sounds that he loves to combine with sweet pop melodies and intelligent (mostly german) lyrics to sing along to...!

Since more than 15 years Torstn runs a small Underground Club in Offenbach (The WAGGON) where a lot of non-commercial bands and projects from all over the world play live. That's a good thing for international underground culture but this means also that there's only rarely time to play his own music live or even tour abroad - and that's why his music has always been mainly a studio project...
