Pavel Stoychev is a musician, composer and sound engineer from Sofia. Since 2006, he has been a co-founder of the Artmospheric crew & festival. Surbahar is one of his solo projects, which he has been developing since 2002. With this project, he has taken part in a number of international festivals; in 2007, he signed a contract with one of India’s largest labels for electronic-acoustic music – Chill Om Records, after which he contributed to the release of two compilations – Azaa-de 2007 and Swaa-Raj – 2008. In 2009, he undertook his first month-long tour of India’s major cities, where he was given an exceptionally warm welcome by the local audience and press. His performances were covered on national television and featured in an article in Rolling Stone Magazine – India, and later in Rolling Stone magazine – Bulgaria. Surbahar’s first full-length album, “The OM Remains the Same” (2011), features ambient, chill, IDM, world and ethno genres.
