SamaYra (also spelled ‘Sameira’) are a Bulgarian alternative rock band from Sofia. The line-up: Maria Boyadzhieva – vocals, Georgi Mihaylov – guitar, Yuri Bojinov – bass guitar, Georgi Deyanov – drums. The band was formed around 2003, when the members were school pupils and their average age was under 17. Their style is “alternative rock”. They won the BG Radio “BG Talents” award for October 2003 with the song “Little Man”. They were invited by Bulgarian National Television (BNT) to take part in the New Year’s concert in Battenberg Square on 31 December 2003 / early 2004. Active period: 2003–2009 “Malko Choveche” — one of their more popular songs, with which they won the BG Radio award, “Ima nekade” — the lyrics are available, and the song is frequently mentioned. “Imeto” — mentioned as one of their songs. “Nestinarka” — also cited as a song by the band.
