Q-Check was a Bulgarian band from Sofia, active from 2007 to 2013. The band members were Lachezar Bosakov – vocals, rhythm guitar (2007–2014), ex-La Muchedumbre, Van Cock; Roza Atanasova – vocals (2008–2014); Georgi Mihaylov – lead guitar (2010–2014), ex-SamaYra; Maksim Erebakan – keyboards (2012–2014), ex-The Headstall, ex-Absinthe, ex-Jet; Orlin Branyakov – bass, vocals (2007–2014), Toy Letters; Marin Lashov – drums (2007–2014), ex-The Headstall, ex-The Barbarones, ex-Villa Vietcong describe their style as “a cocktail of punk, reggae and folk”. In 2008, they made their public debut as Q-CHECK in the village of Trigrad. Their main theme and “inspiration” is the dominant chalga culture in Bulgaria. The band took part in the “Spirit of Burgas” music festival and performed on national media such as “Nova TV” and BNT. They gained notoriety with tracks such as “Pop-folk Star” and “Chakaratsi”. Their lyrics are ironic and humorous, poking fun at pop-folk culture and its representatives in Bulgaria. Nevertheless, some of their tracks are covers of popular pop-folk songs such as “Doko, Doko”, “Telephones” and “Shopska Salad”, reworked in her own style.
