PYROMANIA is one of the iconic alternative rock bands of the 1990s in Bulgaria. It was founded by Petko Drenikov and Andrey Bashev, who formed the band’s creative core. In 1992, Andrey passed away following a serious illness. Initially, the band’s style was oriented towards a more classic rock sound. Following the release of their debut album “Nothing...”, PYROMANIA won the award for best heavy rock band, presented by the newspaper "Rhythm". This was followed by a period of stylistic change towards the alternative sound that was popular at the time. Their second album won them an award from "MM" TV in 1997. Two years later, they changed their style again and renamed the band PLASTIC HI-FI, but soon after that, their activities were put on hold. PYROMANIA reunited in 2011 and took part in the fourth edition of "Spirit Of Burgas". Following their appearance on the main stage, they played live again on 23 November 2011 at Sofia Live Club. They also featured on the soundtrack to the film Tilt with two songs – "Nothing Really Happened" and "Smell". Info: bg-rock-archives.com The band is currently inactive.
