The band ‘Prehod’ is an independent post-punk/caldwave group from Pleven, which emerged around 2025. They present dark yet danceable music, inspired by the Eastern European beat and the post-socialist atmosphere. They combine experimental and local lyrics with the aesthetics characteristic of the post-punk scene, with their focus on the mood and atmosphere of their performances. No full list of the band’s members has been publicly announced, but Ognian Belstoynev, Vara Georgieva and Alexander Genov (Sa6ko) are mentioned as collaborating with them, participating in recordings and live performances. Perehod have taken part in various club events and gigs in Pleven, and we expect to see them on the Sofia stage very soon. dwr.radio had a chat with them ahead of the Sofia launch of Ulitsi – their new album. The band’s name likely reflects both the musical and socio-cultural ‘transitions’ characteristic of post-socialist urban scenes in Bulgaria. Due to the band’s independent nature, the line-up is subject to change, and they can be contacted via prehod.band@protonmail.com
