The band NEVER BEFORE DEATH DO I LOOK AT MIRAGES FOR COMFORT was formed in 1994 in Varna. Chavdar Manolchev – vocals, guitar (1994–1996), ex-Zhen-shen, ex-Resemblance, Crowfish, ex-Relief, Outrage, Indignity, ex-Maniacal Pictures, ex-New Day Coming, ex-Cold Breathl Dimitar Drumev – guitar (1994–1996); Nikolay Hristov "Kayo" – bass (1994–1996), ex-Not Broken In Spirit, ex-Resemblance, ex-Last Season, ex-Independent, Funkaround, Pizza, ex-By The Way; Valentin Deskov – drums (1994–1996). Active period: 1994–1996. They play Punk/New Wave/Alternative/Experimental. The band’s music blends various stylistic elements ranging from punk and new wave to alternative and psychedelic rock. They made their public debut in September of the same year at the Orbita Hall of the Youth Centre in Varna. There, the band launched one of the now-traditional ‘dark parties’ under the name ‘In the Dark’. About a year after their formation, N.P.S.N.G.M.Z.U. released their first demo album, Mirage for Reassurance, featuring 16 tracks. The album was launched with a concert at the Youth Centre in Varna (together with CONFRONT). In 1996, the band’s second album, Something in Childhood, was released.
