"Over 20 years ago, however, he arrived, didn’t buy a house, brought his wife with him, picked up a guitar, left his mark on several Bulgarian rock bands, and wrote songs. And he organised a whole proper summer rock festival in Primorsko. ‘Biala/ta/ Svetlina’ is his! His name is Andy Barrett; a decade ago he returned to his misty island, but here he remains forever linked to the annals of Bulgarian rock. With small or large pieces of our rock history, the bands of the Second Generation, and even the next one – the “Two and a Half” Generation. He produced half-finished and finished albums, reached the national charts and blended his presence into legendary cult bands: No Breaks (one number one with “The Dance”, 1994, and sixth with “Pretty People”), Art Generation, Monday Morning. Andy is a close friend of Dimitar Voev. After 10 years spent in Bulgaria, he is returning to the UK. He speaks Bulgarian and is a delight to talk to.
