Mahorka (Mahorka: 1998) are from Radomir, comprising Stoyan Mihaylov (lyrics, concept, ideas, bass, vocals) and Ivashkin (guitar, vocals, programming, overall technical support). A project that came about and recorded its only demo album, SEPUKO, in about two days – from scratch. Here is what Ivashkin recalls: “I remember playing a guitar that had been set up for a left-handed guitarist. At the time, a punk noise grind band from Radomir – The Rotter – often came to me to record demos, and because their guitarist was left-handed, I was holding that guitar with the strings reversed during that period. I’d just finished my studies and had moved back to Radomir. Then Stoyan came to me and said, ‘I’ve got a whole idea, a concept, let’s record it...’ It all happened in two days – I remember my tooth was killing me – absolutely killing me... We went through the songs one by one and I programmed a bit of something on Mephisto’s drum machine, we fine-tuned it – some bits we got right, some we didn’t (you can tell in a few places) – and we hit record and off we went – sort of on the fly, whatever happens :)) Man, it was epic :)."
