The ‘Life After Jeth’ project came about in 2004–2005, shortly after the break-up of the band Jeth, from which the two musicians hailed. Guitarist Nikola Rangelov suggested to vocalist Asya Andonova that they bring his original ideas to life, with the recordings taking place spontaneously over the course of a few days in a home setting – in the children’s room on the tenth floor at 10 Lyulin Street. The process was impulsive: the lyrics were learnt on the spot, and the performances were recorded in Niki’s amateur home studio. The music is entirely composed by him – he records all the guitar parts, including the solos and bass, whilst the other instruments are realised using the digital tools available at the time, supplemented with samples from music and films. The project has no pre-determined plan or vision for development and can be seen as a brief musical fling, capturing fleeting moments of inspiration, with the track ‘Movie story’ standing out as the most significant hit and the one with the most work put into it, whilst the demo recordings, originally stored on cassette, have been preserved and digitised. Addendum from dwr.radio: It is particularly valuable to us that this release, albeit a demo, has seen the light of day. We are delighted that it is on dwr.radio that you will be able to hear it for the first time. info: Asya Andonova Contact: asyaandonova@gmail.com
