These early versions were provided by Boyko exclusively for dwr.radio. Klas was formed in August 1986 with the following line-up: Boyko Petkov (vocals and bass), Ivan Gradinarov (guitar), Angel Penchev (keyboards) and Alexander Vasilev (drums). They recorded their songs in their own studio, ‘City’. Their song ‘You Are a River’ became one of the most frequently played tracks on BNR. In 1989, Veselin Vasilev became the band’s drummer, and Angel Penchev was replaced by Momchil Kolev. With this line-up, the band recorded their first album, a split with the band Atlas from the BG Rock series, with the assistance of Kiril Marichkov. In the early 1990s, they released two more albums – “Listen Loudly” and “Mrs Emilia”. In 1993, Momchil Kolev left the band to work with Doni and was replaced by Boris Daskalov from the band “Okazion”. In the mid-90s, however, the band split up. In October 2012, they reunited especially for the “Ulitsa Nov Zhivot” concert in memory of Dimitar Voev. Their first concert after a 19-year hiatus was then scheduled for 19 April 2013 at the Inter Expo Centre. In 2021, they released ‘Velvet and Porcelain’, and Klas are currently working on a new album (2024). Support them here and get in touch with the band: klas.bandcamp.com
