"The Forbidden Fruit" is Ivette’s synth-pop debut album. Iva Atanasova, as she is known by her real name, began writing her first songs in 2000, and two years later, when she acquired a synthesiser, the tracks began to take shape. In 2003 and 2004, she entered Stein Studio, where she recorded the eleven songs that later featured on her debut album, “The Forbidden Fruit”. Despite seven years of violin practice, Ivet’s stylistic preferences are far removed from classical music. This is evident from the filtered electro-sound on the album, reminiscent of the somewhat forgotten emotion of synth-pop, as practised by early electro-bands in the 80s.
