Ivan Valkov writes about his album: "I created 'Selection 1' during the 'stay at home' period. It features songs composed between 1978 and 2019. Only two of the songs are included on the original recording – #7 and #11 (produced and recorded in 1992); all the others were recorded in 2020. All the music and production are mine, with the exception of ‘Far Away’ – the music is by Yuli Ankov, who also plays acoustic guitar and duduk. The mastering was done by Lyubomir Velev.
