The Bulgarian hardcore/melodic hardcore band Expectations was formed in Sofia in 2010 and has been active with numerous club gigs, international mini-tours and festival appearances across Europe. The current line-up consists of Georgi Dimitrov (vocals), Mihail Slavov (guitar), Angel Simitchiev (bass), Ivan Iliev (drums) and Andrey Genchev (guitar). The band has released several studio albums, including ‘Expectations’ (2012), ‘After Twenty Years’ (2014), ‘Bye-Bye Youth’ (2018) and ‘Heartless, Shallow and Cruel’ (2022). Expectations have shared the stage with foreign and Bulgarian bands and have taken part in events such as Hardcore X-Mass and various European festivals. Their sound combines the energy of the hardcore scene with melodic elements and lyrics, which often reflect personal and social themes. Over the years, the band has undergone line-up changes, with former members including Danail Bikovski, Daniel Donchov, Yordan Stoilov, Ivaylo Totev and Teodor Tsvetkov.
