Autonomaton is the stage name of Bulgarian electronic musician Nikolay Ivanov Stanchev. He has been active on the electronic music scene since the 1990s as a DJ, radio presenter and event organiser, and has been releasing his own music since 2014. His style encompasses ambient, dub, jungle and experimental electronica. Autonomaton releases music on various independent international labels, as well as on his own netlabel, EcoSCi. His discography includes albums and EPs such as Polarsternritual, Picture in Picture and The teknoiz commitment. The name Autonomaton symbolises an independent, autonomous and free approach to musical creativity. Mahorka is a Bulgarian independent netlabel based in Pleven, which releases mainly experimental and electronic music such as ambient, dub and IDM. It has been in existence for over 15 years and is one of the pioneers of the global netlabel scene. The label releases digital albums and compilations under Creative Commons, encourages international collaborations and provides a platform for both established and emerging artists.
