ASTIC’s debut album was released on 1 December, featuring several tracks previously released as singles, plus brand-new, killer tracks – 10 tracks in total. The band is from Vratsa, or so it says on Bandcamp. The members of this project describe themselves as follows: “ASTIC began as an experiment by Georgi Velev (Izkoplyak, Mortal Soffiction and others) with the idea of expanding his boundaries of expression and curiosity to other soundscapes beyond the confines of death metal. Here he explores slower, electronic and atmospheric territories. Later, Insanya (Voodoo Preachers) joined the project. She did not change the creative direction. Rather, she tilted the balance slightly – towards the darkness, towards the shadows that do not frighten, but attract. United by a desire for post-apocalyptic aesthetics, melancholic romanticism and a sound shrouded in electronic darkness, ASTIC exists in its own crack between genres and states of mind. If you’ve felt your skin prickle – then you’ve been where we are. Don’t look for a chorus. We offer no explanation. Just presence – slightly lost, a heavy absence." The band is currently active.
