The Varna-based hard rock band ЪГЪЛЪТ was formed in the autumn of 1996 by Dimitar Gadevski with the aim of promoting his album *Ъгълът*. The first line-up split up without ever performing live. In 1997, bassist Nikola Nikolov was attacked in the Sea Garden and, as a result of the assault, had one of his legs amputated. The song ‘Napolno bezrazlichno’ (Completely Indifferent) reached number 2 in the 1997 Black Top chart, spending two months at number 1. In 1998, ЪГЪЛЪТ won the Audience Award at the Yambol Rock Festival. A year later, Dimitar Gadevski and Nikola Nikolov, together with new guitarist Nikolay Zhelev, presented completely new material, significantly hardening their style whilst maintaining the tradition of moderate use of folk elements. The three of them formed the core creative unit, setting the direction for the band’s development. In 2001, Nikola Nikolov left and joined SYMBOLIC. In 2007, Dimitar Gadevski emigrated to Canada, which led to the band’s disbandment. In Canada, he became the lead singer of the local band Sanctitude. The album ЪГЪЛЪТ was provided by Emo Bratanov, who shared lots of fresh and rare material that we had no idea existed <3.
